To provide an energy efficient air conditioning system to multiple bedrooms throughout a high-end residential new build dwelling next to a busy road in Park Gate Southampton.
Nicola did not want to see any indoor air con units and required individual temperature controls to all three bedrooms. The system had to be aesthetically pleasing, simple to the eye and quiet.
A low carbon 8Kw Fujitsu 3-way multi split invertor air conditioning system was proposed. This system consisted of a concealed ducted indoor fan coil unit installed above each bedroom in the loft all connected to a single outdoor unit installed at high level at the rear of the home. Wired controls were installed into each bedroom.
To design a ducted air conditioning system properly requires not only an understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning but also of sound air movement design. This includes the correct size of ducting, grilles and diffusers to move the air around your room in an efficient manner, Correct design should be non-draughty and quiet. Here at Air control we have a vast experience in designing all types of air movement systems. We are head & shoulders above our competition.
In Nicolas case we opted for both supply and return air to be induced into the room via Linear Bar Grilles – minimalistic grilles that fit flush with the ceiling. The grilles can then be angled throwing the conditioned air against walls and furniture this diffuses the air and eliminates any draughts – perfect design and the ultimate air conditioning.
“The concealed system was exactly what we wanted to maintain the look of our interiors. The workmanship was excellent and everything was completed with precision and care. The house now stays perfectly comfortable year-round.”
