Rob Saunders required a heating and cooling solution for a bespoke log cabin located at his home, where his partner operates a small sewing business. The cabin needed to provide a comfortable working environment throughout the year while also protecting sensitive sewing materials and fabrics.
Log cabins present a unique challenge when it comes to climate control. As a natural timber structure, the building is particularly sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Excess moisture can damage materials and affect working conditions, while overly dry air can impact both comfort and fabric quality. Achieving stable temperature and humidity control was therefore essential.
The customer required an energy-efficient system that could provide both heating and cooling, while also actively managing humidity levels within the space. The solution needed to be reliable, quiet, and suitable for a small professional working environment, ensuring consistent conditions for detailed sewing work.
Given the sensitivity of the log cabin construction and sewing materials, precise control of the indoor environment was a key priority.
Tom Luff, Air Control’s Project Manager for this installation, proposed a Daikin Ururu Sarara wall-mounted air-conditioning system. This advanced system was selected for its unique ability to provide not only heating and cooling, but also integrated humidity control.
The Ururu Sarara system allows the internal environment to be carefully balanced, maintaining comfortable temperatures while actively managing moisture levels. This ensures a stable and controlled atmosphere, ideal for both the log cabin structure and the sewing materials used within the workspace.
The installation delivered a quiet, energy-efficient, and highly effective climate-control solution, providing year-round comfort while safeguarding the integrity of the cabin and supporting the day-to-day operation of the sewing business.
