Air Control were recommended via reputation to Jason & Mary who were embarking on new careers by opening a new coffee shop in Farnham in Hampshire. Their new premises would be open planned where baristas would prepare & serve light snacks & coffee to 40 covers.
The brief was for an energy efficient low carbon heat pump air con system that will provide heating & cooling for staff and customers throughout the cold & warm seasons and blend into the style of their tasteful contemporary design of the new café. There would be no ceiling void to showcase the open vaulted ceiling thus the indoor unit would be visible to customers.
After being sent the full design portfolio and specifications Air control Southern’s managing director – Steve Musgrave worked with Jason, Mary, and their interior designer. After an initial meeting and a site survey undertaken Steve produced a quotation for two options as requested, both Mitsubishi Electric single split air conditioning systems and 10Kw in cooling & heating power.
The first option was for a 4-Way blow ceiling cassette to be suspended in the middle of the open planned Café above the tables. This was a cost-effective solution, however, the clients did not think ‘the feel’ of the system blended with their contemporary design.
The second option of a ducted indoor fan coil system along with galvanised steel ducting and circular grilles was preferred. The industrial feel of this system blended well with the contemporary modern feel.
To design a ducted air conditioning system properly requires not only an understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning but also of expert air movement design. This includes the correct sizing of ducting, grilles and diffusers that are required to distribute the air around your room in an efficient manner, Correct design should be non-draughty and quiet. Here at Air control, we have a vast experience in designing all types of air movement systems. Perfect design of these systems leads to the ultimate air conditioning. We are head & shoulders above our competition.
The energy efficient single split invertor air conditioning system which consisted of a ducted indoor fan coil unit with supply & return air ducting and circular grilles was installed within a few days. The indoor unit was connected to a single outdoor unit installed at high level at the rear of the building. Wired controls with a programmable timer were installed into the office. The whole system was designed, precured, installed, commissioned, and handed over within two weeks.
“Steve ensured the installation was carried out quickly and efficiently. Professional, tidy and easy to deal with. Just signed the maintence contract”
