Air Control Southern Ltd were recommended via impeccable reputation to General Pharmacy who were opening their very first practice & retail store in Chichester.
The brief was for an energy efficient low carbon heat pump air conditioning system that will provide heating & cooling for staff and customers throughout the cold & warm seasons. Along with this, aesthetics was important to the client and the system must blend into the style of their minimalistic design of the new retail store. In keeping with the clean sterile medical feel of the pharmacy, there would be no indoor units on show.
After being sent the full design portfolio and specifications, Air control Southern’s director Sam Tolliday, worked closely with the designer. After an initial meeting and site survey undertaken, Sam produced a quotation for a series of Mitsubishi Electric concealed ducted split air conditioning systems along with galvanised steel ducting, diffusers, and grilles. This system blended well with the clean design.
To design a ducted air conditioning system properly, requires not only an understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning, but also of expert air movement design. This includes the correct sizing of ducting, grilles and diffusers that are required to distribute the air around your room in an efficient manner. Correct design should be non-draughty and quiet. Here at Air control, we have a vast experience in designing all types of air movement systems. Perfect design of these systems leads to the ultimate air conditioning. We are head & shoulders above our competition.
The energy efficient single split invertor air conditioning systems, each consisted of a ducted indoor fan coil unit. And included supply air & return air ducting. Air Controls installation team worked alongside the fit-out company and the complete system was precured, installed, commissioned and handed over within a very tight schedule. The indoor air conditioning fan coil units were connected to the corresponding outdoor units which were installed at low level, at the rear of the building. As the public had a right of way to the rear of the building, the outdoor air con units were installed housed within anti-vandal cages. Wired controls with a programmable timer were installed into the practice office.
“Sam ensured the installation was completed efficiently within our working pharmacy environment. The system is quiet, effective and has improved comfort for both staff and customers. A very professional service.”
