Our existing customer Abicad Ltd a local technical drawing company were expanding and after they had purchased their new premises an old high street bank contacts us to provide a modern cost-effective heating, cooling, and ventilation system to create a perfect environment for the team.
Retro fitting an old high street bank into a modern office would always hold its challenges. Richard contacted us to provide a quotation for heat pump air conditioning working alongside energy efficient mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems.
The property was developed in the 1980s when energy efficiency and thermal performance of buildings were lesser concerns. The building had no ventilation and would be incredibly hot & stuffy in the summer. A number of offices were to be cooled, heated and ventilated including the old bank safe which was kept as a meeting room along with the original safe door plus a small IT comms room.
The open plan office, Richard’s office & the safe meeting room now have heating and cooling provided by 4 Daikin single split invertor driven air conditioning systems. Daikin’s round flow ceiling cassettes were installed into the open plan office, a compact ceiling cassette designed to go into a 600mm x 600mm ceiling grid was installed into Richard’s office and a wall mounted system into the ‘safe’ Meeting room. All have individual fully programmable wired controls.
Two Daikin VAM mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems provided a constant supply of fresh air and extraction of stale air to work alongside the heating and cooling systems. Fresh tempered air was induced into the space via modern diffusers and grilles.
“Steve and his team delivered a seamless installation within our office environment with minimal disruption to staff. The project was well organised from start to finish and completed on programme. The new system has significantly improved comfort across the workspace.”
